Friday weddings are becoming more and more popular, I assume partly because people have more chance of getting their dream venue without waiting a year or more. Yesterday I was performing my close up magic at the tables between courses of the wedding breakfast at the brilliant Pembroke Lodge in Richmond, Surrey. I tried to take a picture of the sign as it had a couple of squirrels on top which looked great, but as the moment I was about to snap, they jumped off.
As a magician I get to perform in all sorts of weird and wonderful venues, Pembroke Lodge is a fantastic venue set with great views and an ideal place for a wedding. It’s set at the highest point in Richmond Park and looks spectacular.
Sarah and Alison had a rather unique way of doing the tables which I hadn’t seen before. I’ve performed at hundreds of weddings and often the tables are numbered or named quite simply. They named them after Rugby teams and had a rugby ball for each place signed by the captain off the team. One person on each table would win the rugby ball to tae home with them. A great fun idea and something I hadn’t seen before.
